Frequently Asked Questions

What is the YogaMag MCP Server?

A free, read-only Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. It lets AI assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code search and read published YogaMag articles, glossary entries (poses, breathing techniques, Sanskrit terms) and book summaries. No API key is needed.

How do I connect Claude Code?

Run `claude mcp add --transport http yogamag https://yogamag.co.in/api/mcp` in your terminal.

How do I configure Cursor or VS Code?

Add a `yogamag` entry under `mcpServers` in `.cursor/mcp.json` (Cursor) or your MCP settings (VS Code) with the URL `https://yogamag.co.in/api/mcp`.

Which transport should I use, HTTP or SSE?

Use Streamable HTTP at `https://yogamag.co.in/api/mcp`. The older HTTP+SSE transport is available at `https://yogamag.co.in/api/mcp/sse` for clients that only support SSE. Each SSE stream stays open for up to five minutes and only a few can be open at once (extra connections get a 503), so prefer HTTP when your client supports it.

What tools are available?

`search_content` (search articles, glossary terms, routines, guides and book summaries), `get_post` (full article text), `get_glossary_term` (a glossary entry with its Sanskrit name and definition), `get_routine` (a timed routine, pose by pose) and `get_book_summary` (a book summary). Every document is also available as an MCP resource at its page URL.

Is the content medical advice?

No. YogaMag content is educational. Talk to a qualified clinician before starting a new practice if you are pregnant, injured or managing a health condition.

Is it listed in the MCP Registry?

Yes, as `in.co.yogamag/yogamag` in the official MCP Registry (registry.modelcontextprotocol.io), so MCP clients that browse the registry can find and add it.
